ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Samos. Circa 412/1-405/4 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.00 g, 2 h), Attic standard. Facing scalp of a lion. Rev. ΣΑΜΙ Forepart of a bull to right, wearing ornamental collar; in field to left, olive branch; in field to right, monogram of AP; all within shallow incuse square. Barron Class IX, 100c (this coin, A46/P99). SNG Berry 1104 (same dies). SNG von Aulock 2291 (same dies). A very well centered piece. Minor roughness and with traces of overstriking, otherwise, good very fine.
